I’ve been gone for far too long, I think it’s time to spice things up a little – I shall start on a new series! 🙂
I don’t carry Zara around as often as before and time is far too precious for me to sit down, filter through the photos and edit them one by one, so.. I’ve decided to keep this space updated with pictures taken using my camera phone. I’m pretty excited to be honest. I hope you’re at least half as excited as I am. Hahahahahahahahah. 😛 So okay, let’s start with June!
So many things happened in June, and it was amazing. Summer vacation had started, I had no travel plans and I didn’t get to continue with school (nope, months ago I didn’t think of giving my brain a break that it deserved). Instead, I landed myself a job after two weeks of job hunting, alhamdulillah! 🙂
After working for some time, I noticed the habits that I started to pick up – I find the need to keep my workstation neat and tidy. I would also prepare what to wear to work during the little time I have on weekends. However, it was quite tiring to repeat the entire cycle every week, so I gave up after a while! Oh, I have lovely colleagues who give out treats once in a while too! 😉
It was in June that we got hit by the crazy haze! Look!
Before the rain washed the haze away, the PSI readings all over SG were increasing every day. I had cover a part of my face with my hijab each time I stepped out of the office or my house. It kinda made me feel like Mortal Kombat’s Reptile/Scorpion/Sub Zero – totally worth it. Hahah!
Despite the haze and work, I managed to squeeze in some time for my family and friends too! 🙂
We threw a surprise birthday dinner at Bali Thai when A turned 22. The food was awesome, and I really loved their mango sticky rice!
On weekends, apart from all the ironing, I learned to cook and bake stuff with mom and sister too. Hee. 🙂
My favourite part of the whole baking/cooking thing? Visiting the supermarket and getting all the ingredients! Hahahahah. 😀
Fitness wise, it was a frustrating period for me because I was training for my very first race – Shape Run 2013. However, with the rising PSI, I found myself staying indoors. Nope, no more running outdoors and clocking at least 10km a week.
That went on for a week before I decided to drag myself and the man to the gym. And I’m glad I did. 🙂 After all that training, the race was postponed to the end of October. I had two conflicting reactions – Yay, more time to train! and Why can’t we just get the race done and over with? Hahahah.
One thing I learned in the month of June – EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. If things don’t go according to plan, it means something better is on its way. Bad things are a blessing in disguise. We all have to be a little more patient to see it. Besides, you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain, right? 😉
So there you have it, the happenings in June. Will write about the month of July soon! Thank you for reading and happy Friday, everybody! 🙂
